A Ghanaian media and events company, rebuilt as a social voting and ticketing platform people actually use on the night.

The Challenge

Ghana’s awards, pageants, church nights and fashion weeks still run on spreadsheets, broadcast graphics and “send money to this number.” Double Vote is a Ghanaian media and events company that needed to stop renting that chaos. Organizers wanted trusted voting, tickets that scan at the door, contestant portals, and fundraisers that do not die in a WhatsApp group. Fans wanted to vote the way they already live — Paystack, SMS, USSD, WhatsApp — and see the campaign as a feed, not a form.

The Opportunity

The gap in the market was not another brochure site for an events company. It was an operating system: social enough that contestants promote themselves, serious enough that an awards committee can trust the count. Build the product as a network — live contests, awards, giving — and the media company becomes the platform the industry runs on.

What We Built

A social event platform: public campaign feeds and leaderboards, contestant profiles, Paystack-ready voting, SMS / USSD / WhatsApp channels, QR ticketing, organizer workspaces, awards seasons, and mission-led fundraisers. Designed like a social network. Governed like a serious product.

The Outcome

Double Vote now hosts live voting, awards and giving campaigns — from fashion nights to national award seasons — with a public product that organizers can launch and fans can share.

We did not build a landing page for an events company. We built the floor the events stand on. The homepage is a live room: a contestant in frame, a vote count, a path to start an event or walk into one that is already running.

What the platform carries

  • Voting, awards and fundraising as first-class campaign types
  • Mobile money and messaging rails Ghana already trusts
  • Contestant portals so talent does the distribution
  • Door-team QR flows so the night is as real as the feed
